please help. Someone may know about. I got a problem I need some help on. Does the 85 Aspencade have a hydraulic clutch? I am getting fuel and a good spark x 4, but no clutch. Will this keep the wing from cranking up? I am at my whits end. Im stumped. All the fuses are ok. Can anyone help out on this question? An 80 thru 83 i have no problem with this. Thank you, Sincerely, David

Hi David, yes all 1200's have a hydraulic clutch but whether the clutch works or not will not prevent it from starting. Now if the bike is in gear and the clutch lever is not pulled (or due to a bad switch the system thinks it is not pulled) the engine will not start. Ignition on, transmission in neutral, kill switch in the on position the bike should start without regard to the clutch.

Is the engine turning over or not? If the starter is not working that is 1 thing, if it will not start is another and the clutch working or not is another issue all together and until the engine runs you have no need for a clutch. If as in your first post it has spark it must be turning over so the clutch switch is not an issue.
First thing, have you had it running or is it new to you and you are trying to start it for the first time?
