Hey All,

I just bought a 1996 Interstate that has been sitting for over a yr. Only has 7800 miles on it. It is getting less the half the mpg it should be getting, idles high, and I smell a strong exhaust smell like its is running rich. I think the carbs need to be yanked and cleaned. I have run some sea foam but no changes. Any ideas?

Thanks, Capt Matt

This 96 Interstate is my first wing. I am 46 and just started riding about 2 yrs ago. This is my 3rd bike since then. I got hooked, and how. I sold my Honda 750 and bought a C90T BLVD, then got this Goldwing for me and the wife to enjoy together. Now she wants her own bike, then there is 3. Who\'d thunk it.

I agree, pull them off and give them a good cleaning, shouldn't need any new parts.

Sea Foam will only go so far.

Oh, and WELCOME to the forum.

So what can you afford? We are thinking of buying a new house. I have a pair of bikes and have toyed with the idea of selling the wing. 1996 Interstate with 9500 miles. Asking 6k but willing to talk about that. Matt
