The gruise control on indicator light remains on even when I push the cruise control off button. I am assuming the cruise control is always on. What can cause this

The button could be sticking internally. Try spraying some wd40 into it.

I'd agree with Heffo on the cause but spraying stuff like WD40 in there makes me queasy. I'd be inclined to disassemble it and just lube what needs lubing. That said, squirting stuff through a hole does seem to be a popular remedy.
