Finding it difficult to obtain cornering lights special halogen bulb required.

Has anyone converted to a more easily replaceable and obtainable bulb with a different light socket and/or wiring?

I just removed my (dead) bulbs today.
Mine have been converted to stay on all the time.
The book calls for 12V 25W bulbs, but the ones I removed were H6M 12V 18W....wonder what the deal is here.

The oem one is not halogen ( i dont now what the aftermarket use )
Honda part nr = 34901-071-003 , the bulb is Stanley 12 volt , 25/25 watt (Yes there are 2 filaments in there , - i dont now why , because honda only use one of them ).

I was not happy with the light given off at night. I even tried both filament on at the same time and still not enough light. That is why I went to led. A nice spread of light when driving at night and not using up all the energy that my alternator will put out.

If you are only wanting to be seen, LED is the way to go, but you will need to either make your own with an old bulb base or as said above change the socket.
LED will not give you more light on the road for you to see more than the stock set up.

IF you want to see more road in front of you, Go with HID slim ballast kit. Again you will have to convert the socket.

If your bike is older than 98 and has the old original diffused lens cornering lights, you will not get a good light pattern on any bulb to see further down the road. You will need to get the newer plain(clear) driving lights.

I have Harley style 4 1/2" driving lights that were on my bike and the clear lens driving lights as well as it is a 99 so has the clear lens main headlights, so I see great with main and the 4 1/2" driving lights. I may get the HID slim ballast kit for the main headlight.

Whatever you do, you will only light maybe 30 feet ,in front off bike , with those corner ligth .
-And who is interested in those 30 feet , when travvelling down the road with 60mph or more ? - i mean , when you first see a problem in this distance you dont have time to do anything !

Did you use the search bar on this? It's a great tool here.
I think there was a post on someone putting in LEDs in the past 2 weeks.

Yes - there is a long thread with conversion directions, photos, etc. I am considering this just so the bulb may not ever have to be changed. Those Honda/Stanley bulbs can be susceptible to vibration especially when heated.
More for looks and being seen though. They are not ideally placed to give any meaningful light at anything over about 10 MPH.
