I will be grabbing parts that i have laying around. I made a bet with someone i could build a bike from spare parts. I have a 1983 Frame with clear title so why not. I will first be uploading a photo of parts to be used... So enjoy my little folly...

hi there copper 204

I dont know if you met to use the wheel as part of the projet but i would at least change the tire. This Load Star K550 is to be used for trailer only... not legal for passenger transport ST is for SPECIAL TRAILER use only.

You should consider upgrading those lower sidecar frame mounts to the current heim joint style. The type on your frame have been prone to failure... Not a pretty site! I've used those elbows before but welded a threaded insert into the bell, that would allow me to use a heim joint with a male threaded stem. You can buy those from WW Grainger and save some $$. Good Luck!

So has anyone ever heard of welding the side car frame directly to the Goldwing frame? We intend this to be a dedicated and never separated hack?

I'm not going to say that's impossible but read up on regs for bikes first. In essense a side car frame welded to a bike frame in the UK becomes a trike!

As it is not directly fixed to the frame a side car is a bolt on addition and therefore seen differently.

This only has an effect here on MOT regulations and vehilce tax class.

Racing side cars are all welded to their bike frame but I would love to see you ride that on the road!

Good luck

keep the old girl on the road
