Norm .... I'd give a long hard thought about adding a gel pad to your seat. They are cold when it's cool outand take some time for your body heat to warm them up!! Just go with aading the foam to where it's needed

I believe it is one layer of high density foam, Norm .... but there's nothing saying you can't add a layer of different foam density on top of what you have!!

I would advise against going with something that is less dense than what is on there, now. Find a boat upholstery place nearby and they can advise and most likely supply you with some quality foam.

Hi dj norm, this probably won't be a great deal of help, but took some pics of my seat that "I just prepared earlier"...but not remotely 'naked", at least that may help with your overall finished shape?...if you end up taking it to a motor trimmer, also apologies I don't know if there is any gel in the original seat.
Cheers
Peter.

PS: Not wishing to hijack the thread, but, could someone tell please via a PM if this seat is black or charcoal..??? (from '93A) will need to know as I want to order armrests/backrest via US...

I use a Gel car seat pad cut to shape from Canadian Tire & Memory foam in mine, a sheepskin takes care of the shivering boy's in cool weather, but I also have a seat heater.
