Rebuilding pulse generator / GL1100

Is there a trick to removing the vacumn unit from the pulse generator to replace the mag pickup portion of unit. I have a new unit and want to install but not sure how the old one comes out

It's out!! Looks like it was a break-away screw originally. It's now a 9mm hex for re-assembly. Thanks

Another question ---- the mag pickups were not screwed down tight against the mounting plate of the new replacement. I therefore assume there is a set dimension between rotor and magnets. Anybody know what that is???
