82 interstate question
First, thanks to those that have answered my questions as I changed the timing belt and rebuilt the front calipers on my GL1100. My question is regarding the calipers. Is there anything that can be done to prevent the need to rebuild them again, especially as the bike sits over the winter? I don't know how long the bike sat before I bought it, but was amazed at the junk / gunk on the pistons. I've never had that problem on any other bike.
Regarding the bike itself, I really wasn't sure if I would like it, but I absolutely love this bike. Very smooth and comfortable, and for being 31 years old I find it to still be very capable and would not hesitate to take it on a trip. It's a nice alternative to my two Guzzis.
