Silicate free coolant option

I know many only use stuff from Honda, but many use different branded stuff. I emailed the company to make sure and the anti-freeze/coolant pictured below is confirmed silicate free by them. So, just an FYI and option for those who desire it. I had purchased it to use in my daughter's car and we sold it before using it. I got it at the local Bi-Mart I think.

Here is the actual email response:
Richard,

I looked into this and can confirm that:

Yes, the Champion Universal Antifreeze (4119) is silicate-free.

Let me know if you need anything further. Thanks for contacting.

Several brands are sillicant free, and many use different brands. I use Honda pre mixed, for the price it's worth it to me

Well one thing for sure Honda doesn't make antifreeze . Find out who makes their antifreeze you'd be suprised . But this is what I used yesterday in one of my LTDs

http://www.peakauto.com/products/ant...full-strength/

1984 Aspencade Premium Beige Metalic..... Right Wing
1985 LTD Sunflash Gold 85,530 Grace Brown...... Left Wing
A Bird can\'t fly on one wing
That\'s why I have three wings
And another 85 LTD, LTD 2 Sunflash Gold Grace Brown.... Tail Wing

With three wings I believe I can fly

Let me guess is it green in color? Label has same claims as this which is silicate free, coincidence or is it Prestone?

Silicate type coolant is still out there.
My concern goes beyond non -silicate, Note: silicates coat and mess up an ECU temp sensor = causes problems

The concern is what goodies hondas maker adds to the basic stuff! Honda cars are picky about ps fluid and coolant, bikes likely the same about some things,,it needs it honda moly grease for example

What is the difference between the 10 bucks a Quart of Honda HP bike coolant, and 10 bucks a gallon
for pre-mix Honda car coolant?
besides 30 dollars!!

There are lots of options for silicate-free antifreeze.
O'Reilly's carries this one at only $11.99 / gallon already 50/50 premixed.

It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

I just bought a gallon ofl the full strength green anti freeze from O`Reileys with their name brand on it. Only anti freeze I have seen seen that says Phosphate, and silicate free in big red letters on the back. Prefer to mix my own and know that the other 50% mixture will be distilled water. Save a gallon of the mixture and refill with other half in 2 years.

Nope. Quite inexpensive.

The main reason I posted this is there have been several threads about what coolant to use. Prestone is silicate free, so is this one. It is just not on the label. Just informational if you have seen this brand and wondered.

Use it or not, your call. We all change it way before the label or mother Honda says to anyway (I do it every other year, which winds up around 15-20k) so there it is.
