If it helps, the it's on the 1500 are same size as the 1800. I believe threads are same also.

Mine was built for my 1500 and it had a regular nut on top,but even if it had a castle nut the way it was made 70 ft. lbs, wouldn't shear the teeth off.Haven't had the need to try it on the 1800 yet.

Actually come to think of it I didn't use key stock for the teeth,it was just regular 1/4 x 1/4" steel stock.
