If it helps, the it's on the 1500 are same size as the 1800. I believe threads are same also.

The 1200 uses a washer and a 4 slotted nut that requires the special tool. And that gets torqued to 70 ft lbs. So those teeth might break with a home made tool.

The 1500 uses a flanged nut that you can put a socket on.

If I could use a 1500 nut on my 1200 I would only have to make one tool.
Mine was built for my 1500 and it had a regular nut on top,but even if it had a castle nut the way it was made 70 ft. lbs, wouldn't shear the teeth off.Haven't had the need to try it on the 1800 yet.

Actually come to think of it I didn't use key stock for the teeth,it was just regular 1/4 x 1/4" steel stock.
