I didn't think they litigated false advertising any more. That's good and about time.

I cant say I have ever seen any advertising for those headlights. However, it DOES say on the back of the package they do not last as long as regular light bulbs. And I know that disclaimer has been on there for at least a few years. I sold them at my shop and told people that before putting them in the cars. My silver stars lasted 3 years with about 30000mi during that time period in the Goldwing. 3 of my cars have had them for over 5 years, without replacement yet.

Maybe that would be a good way for you to go. High beam, I mean, and save the lows for night work.
On my 1800 the low beams are on with the high beams also.

The Low Beams should always stay on, regardless of what the high beams are doing.

That way, the foreground stays lit up properly.
If they don't, then they should be rewired to make it so.

DaveO430 has his bike, my 1800 and Lopeha's 1800 all wired to turn on with the Oil Pressure.... that way, the HID ballasts do get blipped by the starter switch which unnecessarily stresses them causing early failures.

We have left our High Beams the OEM H7 bulbs... you don't want to be stressing HIDs by turning the hi-beams on/off

12k miles and not quite a year and my left low beam is out. Oil change this weekend and have a rear turn light out and now headlight. Will be using lift to see how much easier oil change will be getting filter off. Mancave held up to 105MPH and though I didn't have proper papers because if I did it wouldn't have been built as to the many restrictions they have in our area. That being said, my own engineering was enough for IRMA to keep from blowing it away. My daughter who is a licensed architect was happily surprised by the construction of it.

Now right low beam burned out. Changing jobs at work in two weeks. Still 2nd shift(I like that shift) but will be on 4/10 hr days so 3 days off a week will be good and it will cut down on my work riding the 1800. It will be a nice change of pace(much more hectic)-which I'm okay with.

I will put this info on here again in case anyone wants to use OSRAM brand.

3 versions of regular H-7 from Osram that i know of.
Regular that comes on Wing- 64210
Long Life-64210LL -sold by various places like NAPA for on sale of $8 each i think . Approx. 2X life of regular.
Ultra Life- 64210UL- sold by Powerbulbs at a very reasonable price. PAIR- $21.97 minus 20% right now is $17.58 shipped. Approx. 3x life of regular

The regular and long life is supposedly 3100k and the Ultra is 3200k so might be a touch whiter light and may or may not be noticeable.

I haven't tried them yet but taking them along on trip next year. I might pop one in there yet if i get bored just to see the brightness. It would be real easy when doing steering bearings this winter.

2012-GL1800- 33,300 miles
88-GL1500-124k+ mi. SOLD
78-Honda CB750K- 72k+ mi.
67-Suzuki 250cc T20-X6 Hustler-fun to ride yet

Bridgestone Exedra- front

Pirelli Snow Control 3-R/F
8800mi on it so far @36psi and less

Pirelli Centurato P1 87V R/F-took off with 14.5k on it and mounted new P1. Maybe 2k more left but had small cut, so in trash.
34-36psi.
