Finel Drive Noise

Ok I need your thoughts I had a clunking noise coming from the ujoint area so I went completely through
the rear end, replaced the joint and checked everything with fine tooth comb. Cleaned every thing up and put new grease. All back together and still makes the same noise a clunking sound. It only does when I letr off the, it does not do it under power. Any Ideas and will it hurt to drive the bike. Please help

A clunk in the rear wheel might transfer through the drive to the u-joint.

When you had the wheel off, did you look at the fit of the drive flange where the pins fit into the wheel?

Are you dead sure the wheel bearings aren't clunking?

Is it possible you have that much slop in the final drive?

Why ain't we ridin'?

No everything was tight no slop that I could feel when I rotated the wheel on center stand. I know something is causing this noise but what.

Is this something that started recently or something that has bugged you since you got the scooter?

Did you change the type/brand of engine oil?

The noise is coming from somewere in the drive line not motor. Like I said it does not make the noise under power.

Not sure about the 1200, but the 1500 has 5 (I think) rubber cushions built into the rear wheel that act as shock absorbers. These will wear out in time allowing a "click".

Check your shock mount bushings and nuts are tight.
