It shouldn't be difficult for a normal bike, but on yours it is obvious that somethings happened and you should restore them during replacement or repair.

If you can't find the parts or find them expensive it is just an alternative to keep in mind.

And also, I am not sure you have mentioned but, if your bike is an Interstate model you will not have an Turn Signal Auto Cancel Unit.

Here is the parts needed to put it back as far as the cancel unit is concerned. Not sure what other modifications are done upstream though. This one ships from Canada. It will give you a picture of the switch and brackets for the steering angle sensor. If you ask someone in the US I bet they would set you up with the brackets also. Might look at the plug by the top of the steering stem to see if it is there and in one piece. If you are not real experienced you might have to work through this with the guys. They are sharp and will get you going but be patient. Might be wore than a one step process.

There may be something like this on your bike as well.
Pretty ingenious. Doubtful he has anything like that because his won't cancel at all. Someone probably just made a permanent ground to the flasher.

Read through the pictures from #14 to #24 in this link to reach and remove the unit.

there is problem with that, there is nothing to remove on mine at moment, but at least I know to put 1 in is reverse of that. I may run out and take look and see what they did to the wiring or try to anyhow
, I just went and took top covers and this is what I found.
