Anti-Dive Unit Simple Question

The answer to this question seems, to me, to be apparent but have to ask any way. If I remove the anti-dive/TRAC case on the GL1200, do I lose fork oil?

Asking because the rubber piston case boots (51442-MC7-003) on both sides of the slider/piston collar (51423-MB1-771) are deteriorated. The boots are held in place with small snap ring and, while I can get the outside boot replaced without handling the anti-dive, I can't get to the inside snap ring without removing the TRAC case.

Did mine on my '85 LTD. Remove the front wheel and you should have enough room to get at the inside. You can also remove the fork brace and fender, and be able to turn the bottom case. Agree with cihilb, good time to replace the oil.

Yes sir, Rednax...that's what I did. While being away from this thread for a while, I had to remove the fender for repair then realized replacing the boots was an easy fix with no wheel and no fender. No need to mess with the forks at all.
