So what happened??

Most of the threads I read, (especially multiple ones) seem to get to a certain point and then STOP! Please remember to do a followup, so others may know the end results. This irritates me to no end. Why is it so hard to give a small update. I am learning some things on this Forum, but get annoyed because no one takes the time to finish them.

Unfortunately we get a lot of that. Most of the time it is a new member who comes on and posts a question then never returns. Not so in this case but it's still frustrating.

Yes... frustrating. Sorry I just needed to vent. Just seems when the story is nearing a conclusion, it vanishes, leaving the question, "So what happened".
Again, sorry.

Venting doesn't help. I will only post answers to things I have done. Sometimes I will post answers to things that I think, but a lot of times I'm wrong and it didn't help the person who is dealing with a problem. I post a lot to HondaTwins.net. If I had a dollar for every kid that joined that forum, cut the fender mount off the back of the frame, took the airbox off the carbs and couldn't figure out why the bike wouldn't run in two weeks, I could buy a new Gold Wing.
Bike...and Dennis likes this.

Not sure if ratwingger has fixed his problem, or just left the building, but on the 1800 fuel injection system there is a fuel pressure regulator valve that can go bad if the bike is allowed to sit for long periods of time. I suppose the 1200 fuel injection system could have such a valve also.

Yes the 1200 FI also has a pressure regulator but unless the OP is willing to do some testing we can't help. As far as I know we don't have an clairvoyants here.

The bike will start and run if Im spraying carb fluid in it but once I stop spraying the engine eventually sputters and stops. Can someone give me advice on what I should do in order to keep the bike running on gasonline lol instead of the starter fulid?
Now that we know, was this new pump for fuel injection? A low pressure pump for carburetors will not work for fuel injection, nor the other way around.

Just in case ratwingger comes back.

There are some guys over on NGW who are taking dead GL1200 fuel injection systems and installing them on GL1100s with great results. They are using the MegaSquirt Engine Management and controls. Pretty cool stuff. I want one, with spark control...
AZgl1800 and DenverWinger like this.
