Race Tech Gold Valve Cartridge Emulators

Getting ready to go through my GL1500 forks and put in a set of Progressive springs. A friend of mine who sold his Goldwing said he thinks he still has a set of new Race Tech Gold Valve Cartridge Emulators. He never got a chance to put them in his wing, but he worked at an Indian dealer and said he put a lot of them in those bikes and they worked amazingly well. I did search out one post where someone was changing springs and found that they had the gold valves already and was happy with that combo. I'm looking for anyone who has installed gold valves to see if the results are worth it. Since you have to drill some oil passages, it's not so easy to go back if I don't like them.

installed many. well worth it. BTW, race tech springs are much better than progressives. be sure and read instructions on gold valves. there is an initial setting that you want to verify-less you wanna tear back down.

Thanks. I did notice that Race Tech has a lot more spring options. However, I already have a new set of progressives. Decisions, decisions.

Race Tech springs are larger diameter and a little more tightly wound than oem springs. We installed a set in a 2009 GL1800 yesterday. Used 15 weight fork oil.

there ya go. more linear control .

shorter spring is a stiffer spring.

shorter spring takes more tyrs to get preload (sag) correct.

shorter spring is harsher in corners.

i can do this all day.
