04 speedometer

anyone know how the speedometer works on an 04? it is different than my 96 and is off by 4mph, going 60 on the bike =56 in reality. can they be adjusted? thanks again.

The 1500 speedo runs of a cable the 1800 does not run off a cable. Just about all 1800 are off by that much. Honda corrected it in 09 or 2010. You can correct it by putting a speed healer on it


Or as I did and a lot of others do, when you need a rear tire go to 70 series instead of the 60 that it comes with

on the 1800s, Honda switched things up.

the speedo now runs off the output shaft of the transmission.

and my 2002 with the Michelin CT is reading 6 mph faster than GPS speeds at 60-70 mph.

so, if the speed limit is 65, I put the Speedometer at 71-72

actually, I just set the GPS to read out MPH only and use that instead.
if, it bothers you enough, here is a fix for you.
