You can always look up the part numbers and see if they match.

apparently not the same part numbers.

i wonder if anyone here actually did this swap and can confirm it fits... the steering tree seems to be the same. i wonder if the fender, brakes and everything else fits...

The fork tubes are interchangeable from 1988 - 2000.

We recently installed 1989 fork tubes on a 1999...! BTW.....This bike just completed a 9,188 mile trip in 30 days.

Yeah, I know there are some part number differences throughout the years. I also know why.

Don't worry, install the 1995 tubes on your 1999.......!!

Does your bike have OEM fork springs...?

Does his bike have OEM fork springs...?

If you have OEM springs and he has Progressive springs, use his springs.....!

We also installed the 1989 steering stem on the 1999 Gold Wing. The fender and brakes would be the same....!

i have no clue what springs are on my bike as i purchased it a year ago and my friend does not know what springs are on his as he purchased it used and have not changed them so probably both are running stocks.

what i was planing to do is to keep my springs as i guess newer mean stiffer..

The same springs were used in 1995 and 1999. I would use springs from the lowest mileage bike....!

Or depending on mileage, use Progressive springs.

GL1500 Fork Tubes (Tip)

While we are discussing "fork tubes"..............

Fork tubes are not available from Honda for 1988 - 1994 Gold Wing's

Fork tubes are available from Honda for 1995 - 2000 Gold Wing's.

1995 - 1998 are 222.45 (Per Partzilla.com)

1999 - 2000 are 153.47 (Per Partzilla.com)

Why pay more when the above year tubes are compatible....??
