Latter model windsheild trim

I have '92 GL1500A that has a bushed looking panel between the windshield and headlight. There is also a black finned panel below the brushed panel. Question is is it possible to replace these two part wih the chrome single panel from a later model say '98 or so with the vents? I hope I didn't confuse with the description .

I did it to my 1990 1500 and it works great but you need to change the windscreen gasket seal cause the 1998 is different and the adjustable windshield will not stay up

I did this to my 88 as well. I did not have an issue with the windshield sliding down but when I moved the seal from the original to the new, I didn't use enough glue to attach it and next time I took it off had to re-glue it.

I used an aftermarket kit from Showchrome. Don't think they make it any more but someone has one in stock - maybe. This kit includes a bracket that attaches to the headlight assembly with longer mounting bolts. The bracket holds the bottom of the trim in place. the trim slides onto the bracket and then moves a little to one side to hook on. Somewhat of a PITA to get lined up but after a couple tries I got the hang of it.

Might as well replace the little black grill under the headlight and the painted rings at the mirror mounts with chrome ones at the same time. Those can still be had and make it look complete.

Good advice but I haven't seen the after marker ones with the badges on them. I think the badge, like the HONDA letters are sold separate and if I recall right they only apply with 2 way tape and there are no alignment holes on the chrome trim piece. When I removed the HONDA letters from the front of my wing there were no holes in the panel.
