Locks and rear speakers not working

Thanks to the posts on this forum I've solved the problems thank you. I had taken my 2010 wing in for a brake recall and asked them to check out the trunk locks not working and rear speakers not working. I told them if it was going to expensive not to do anything. Went to pick my bike up they told me it would cost any were between $800-$1200 to fix. Need to replace the lock actuators and (or) the module, radio and (or) the amp. I found it odd they all quit working all about the same time. Was not happy with the dealer ship. Got home started my research found 6 broken wires at the trunk hinges. All is good, wife will be happy she will have music again, Happy wife happy life.

We have found a couple of GL1800's with broken wires at the hinge area. Its the first place to look when the remote trunk lock quits working (and the fob is good).

Hopefully you "rerouted" the wires to prevent the "sharp bend" that breaks the wires (as we did).

The shop probably wanted to replace the wiring harness. That's what they wanted me to do when I was working, instead of fixing things. The managers didn't like me much.

On my Suburban, when the shop found the knock sensor harness chewed thru, they just ordered a new one for me.

But, I told them when I left it with them " I want it fixed like new "

that was the 2nd job they did for me, the 1st job was fixing the a/c system...
the compressor cratered and sent metal thru everything.

they fixed it better than new, it was pumping out 55°F air pulling the Toy Hauler home from Colorado when the outside air temp was 105°F

the dogs were rolled up tight, they were so cold

:
That's something that probably has to be replaced rather than repaired. On V6 Hondas mice just love the knock sensor wire, replaced a bunch of them.
