I have Clymer GL1500 manual that came with my 92 when I bought it. Not sure where you are but I just don't need it sitting around any longer.

cost of shipping plus $10.00
Since I went up to 2002 after the 1500 got totaled it is no longer doing me any good. I think I should be on the lookout for a GL1800 repair manual myself

I am not sure you have exactly the same problem but, the ECT sensor was the culprit in the following link.

Garage
Wouldn't hurt to dump a half can of Seafoam with a full tank of gas or two.

When the fuel petcock fails, it sometimes leaks fuel in the Overflow Tray... which perhaps is what you're smelling.

Don't make me strangle you... Just delete the darn fuel petcock, and report back

It smells as though the fuel were draining into the left intake manifold. But I can't be sure. I've never noticed any fuel leakage in the service cap collection tray. But I'll take a look next time.

I think it's the left carb float not closing and a little bit of fuel will drain into the manifold after shutdown.

How do I delete the fuel petcock?

I read about the sensor last year. This might explain the horrible gas mileage I'm getting (about 28mpg to 35mpg)

I order the sensor a few days ago..will see if it makes a change.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you. Yes I am interested in buying the GL1500 manual. Does it cover 1997 Goldwings? And how shall I purchase this from you? Money Order? PayPal? Ebay? Send me a PM (private message) and I'll PM you the information you might need...or give me a ring...I can PM you my mobile number. How much will shipping cost?
