Yup - looked at the service manual - I stand corrected....

Although his profile indicates a 1990 model, he might have a 1989 model, because his bike has separate CCU and ICU instead of an ECU according to another question answered in Goldwingdocs.com.

I realy wish to get rid of showing devices but do not know what are they for.

Please help!!!!

I don't have anything to contribute except to say that I feel your pain. My '91 Asp. came to me without the plastic "fender" under the seat and top box. All the "gizmos" were just stuffed in where ever they would fit. It also was missing the compressor and it wasn't until I tried to install the compressor I bought on ebay that I realized the extent of the mess.

Thanks to the smart and generous folks on this forum we can both learn.

I think it is a 1988 model according to the serial number.
The more accurate year code is found in the VIN number which starts with 1HF.

Well, that is possible. I did import the GL from Switzerland but previous owner is unknown. I'm just sure that is Californian model because of all that environmental stuff that I had to removed.

I faced another problem, that pissed me off, namely is turn signals. When I bought the bike turn sgnal relay was burned out so I replace it with hazard (just found it works without making any further investigations). It works very quickly woth mine front led turn signals. During my all wire look changes relay stop working so I did assume I mess up something but that was not possible. I bought cheap Chainese relay for led and...works but can not switch off turn signals, can change them but can not cancel. Now, the question is WTF???
Looks like OEM relay gets broken somehow but still, I need replace all turn signals withLED and do not want to use resistors. The self canceling unit I do not need but do not know whare is that located anyway. I must be stupid because just can not. But anyway I need information how I can make it work with led turn signals and led flasher.

BTW in my Yamaha XSn 1100 1978 I bought chinese turn relay plig in and...works flawessly.
Please help in that matter because I must be sure I'm doing all right.
