Shuffling Songs on an iPad

I have a 2016 Goldwing Audio Comfort with an iPad mini plugged into the usb aux port for music. Normally, I have the iPad set to shuffle all songs. Occasionally, when I start the bike and turn on music, the iPad has gone into sequential song mode, starting with the first song. What I've been doing is getting off the bike, opening the trunk and pressing the shuffle button in the songs app.

I know you can press the mode button on the Goldwing's stereo system, select the iPod menu and then select Artists, Alblums or Songs.

Is there any way to shuffle songs using the Goldwing's stereo control buttons?

Thanks.

I use Airmore to play music stored on the device and VLC for everything else. I know VLC remembers all the settings but I'm not sure about Airmore.

I don't use Apple Music so Airmore lets me store my own music on the iPad and play it with that. Works good.

Don't know crap about the 1800 stuff.

Not a bad idea. Neither Airmore, or VLC sound like what I’m looking for, but a non Apple music playing app might do the trick, assuming the Goldwing will interface with a different app.

Airmore’s description seems focused on loading music onto an iOS device, or streaming, with movies being the focus. VLC seems video oriented as well.

Still, it would be nice to change modes using the built in stereo controls, rather than opening the trunk.

Airmore's audio player is not to be underestimated. But travel your own path.

Hum, just got off their website. It says it helps transfer and organize music, nothing about playing.

Also, on the website there is Airmore and Airmore + with no clear distinction as to which is best suited for my needs.

The other concern I normally have is what pays for this app? The website has downloads, but no price. That usually means I wind up with streaming adds I don't want, annual subscription costs or pay to play pricing for various features.

I pretty much stick to apps that have a single up front price, with possible upgrade costs every few years.

What gives? Does Airmore work in conjunction with the volume power on and off and skip buttons on the Goldwing?
