Neutral sensor repair on a 1500

So about to strip down and take the gear position sensor out. Question is can it be repaired as the only ones on ebay are for the valkyrie or will they do the job.

According to what was posted in this thread, the later model switch will work in the 88-89 models. You just won't use the wire for 2nd gear as it is not needed in the early year bikes.

Before replacing you might want to check the wire from the switch, may just be a bad wire/connection.

Have checked the light green and red and there's no continuity but there are only 4 wires in the block. It is a 1990 bike.
