Throttle Spring Help

When balancing the carbs, it was obvious that the throttle spring (on carb #3) wasn't right. It looks like the end/hook of the spring, closest to the back end of the bike, hooks onto the linkage bracket (see first pic). But I can't see where or how the other end, closest to the front of the bike, should go (see second pic). Maybe the spring is broken...don't know. Bike is a '87 1200.

Garage
The inner end hooks on a stub under the throttle shaft, about 1/2 way around CCW from where it is in the first picture.

With no God over the state, the state then becomes not the defender of liberty but the definer of liberty.

If I disagree with you it's simply because you're wrong.

Thanks, Dave. My eyes didn't see the stub so I'll check again...maybe get better glasses too.

Much obliged, CWN. I was not focusing in the correct spot but now I think I know where to look.
