Mine likes about 850, have car alternator and AGM battery.

Manual says ~800 or so....

I always used 1050ish so the Alternator put out enough to keep the battery up when stopped for extra long stop lights, and pulling my trailer.

Mine was set at 750ish when I got it. Haven't touched the adjuster, plenty of juice at idle. High output alternator. Have to turn up the stereo (with 300 watt amp and subwoofer) pretty loud to get the voltage to sag at idle.

How is one supposed to know for sure. Mine is set to the marker line just below 1000. Whatever that represents.???
