Clear gauge cover cracked

That neighbor down the street has his 1500 Goldwing running now, vacuum leaks fixed.

Now he is looking to repair his clear gauge. From a screw a crack started up from the bottom, yes it shows.

Is there a clear glue or a solvent that will bond this back together without seeing the glued line?

Understandable a slight line may show but at least the crack will not keep running.

Thank you, from him.

MEK. Apply sparingly to the crack and let it run in. This is what is used in Model Glue, solvent style. Keep in mind it may fog. If it does, once dry, you can sand it down and buff it out. A headlight repair kit would work for this. You will want to get down to around 8000 grit before buffing with a plastic polish.

I looked at a parts diagram and I couldn't see a replacement listed. I wonder if Honda doesn't have it anymore. You might try a scrap yard

I do have one, it is not broken or cracked, but it is crazed from being in the sun. I wouls send it for the cost of the shipping, but if you can find a better one, I would.

Thank you.

You might want to try ebay or a salvage yard.

From the neighbor, thanks for the suggestions.
He says none will work for he has a practically new meter cover, just cracked in the photo that I posted earlier.
He is nearing the stage of reassembly of the fairing so finding the right solvent is becoming important.
