GL1100A Suspension options

The air lines on my 1982 Aspencade are rotten and I am not sure that the compressor will even ride correctly on the breather of my single, solex knock-off carb. What options are out there for either making the Air Shocks manual fill or going to non-air. Thank you for your advice.

Yeah, look for the Interstate hose set up. It will take the compressor out of the equation.

Why ain't we ridin'?

I use a Weber 32/32 DFT, I'm told it's also a knock off, but for $95 who's complaining? I use the slimmer 3/4" air filter so that the compressor tubes don't interfere.

The only problem I had with room under there was when I swapped out the fuse box for an auto fuse box. And there's a fix for that too, if you run the fairing.

But if you really want to reverse engineer it, try any of the above. They will all work.

For what it's worth and if I may be so bold? The current rebuild of the `80, `81, `82 & `83 GL1100STDASPENSTATE can be followed on classicgoldwings.com in a thread called "The plan is to turn 140,000 into 50,000."
