Gas blowing out of exhaust after head gasket replacement

So when I bought my '83 Interstate last summer, it was not running. I removed the carbs, cleaned them, and got the bike running. This summer, I realized I had a gasket leak on cylinder 3 so I replaced the head gaskets on both sides. Now, when I turn the bike on, I get a lot of smoke and unburnt fuel coming from the right pipe (cylinders 1 and 3). I was wondering if anyone had any idea as to what could be the cause of this. Also, how to fix it.

Thank you in advance.

I would guess that your fuel shut-off valve is not shutting off. And you have a float valve, or float, not functioning correctly.

Why ain't we ridin'?
