Have a Goldwing Gl1800, 2006. Was told could use a car filter instead of motorcycle one, anyone know if you can?

NAPA and WIX filters (WIX makes the NAPA filter) seem to be the highest rated filters these days. Stay away from Purolator and FRAM, horrible quality

WIX #51358
NAPA #1358

These fit the 1500, too.

1972 CL-350 (1980-1988) sold
1978 Suzuki GS-550 (1985-2005) sold
1977 GL1000 (2002-2006) sold
1980 GL1100 STD Vetter (2005-)
1993 GL1500 Aspencade (2017-)

I use Honda car filters on mine. 15400-PLM-A02 They are longer than the motorcycle filter but fit, might have to pivot the left horn on it's bracket a little. There are also several aftermarket filters about the same size as the original filter.

purolator are now owned by Mann Filters which are very high quality.
Higher end priced Frams are also very good.

in testing for filtration Wix/Napa don't test well.

I use an oversized PureOne (don't recall their new name) PL14459. larger dia, same length as OEM for my valkyrie. I believe the dia will still fit for the 1800.
