Carburator swap

I have a 1996 Honda Goldwing GL1500SE. Does anyone know if carburetors off a 1993 GL1500 will fit my 1996?

The 1993 and 1996 carb assemblies have different part numbers.

Carb assemblies for the 1993 are not available from Honda.

The right carb assembly is available from Honda for the 1996 but not the left carb assembly.

They will mount the same but there are differences in the following:

1. Chamber set float.

2. Valve set float.

3. Valve set starter.

Bottom line....they will fit, might not perform quite as well......!!!!

Hope this helps.......!

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I might be better just rebuild the original carburetor. Is there any hints you can give me about rebuilding it.

Get your rebuild kit from this guy.....!!

https://www.randakks.com/randakks-ow...rhaul-kit.html

Parts are packaged separately and clearly labeled....!

Also check the rubber on the vacuum pistons very close for tears etc. Look very close as sometimes they can be very hard to find. A magnifying glass can be your friend...!!

Hope yours are ok as they can be pretty expensive.....!!

Thanks I really appreciate the help. I will look very close at the vacuum pistons, the right slide didn't seem to work right the first time I looked at it maybe that's the problem .Ugh. Do you know if the vacuum pistons from the 1993 carbs are interchangeable? I only ask because I have the 1993 carbs.
