Lifter ticking

Got my wing back and I am totally amazed with the ride difference in my Tour Glide and my interstate. Night & day difference.

Now the problem. I got it back and my mechanic said it had a lifter ticking. Ticks , then stops , then ticks again, then stops Any suggestions ? Bike sit for 2 years without being ran ( I got popped w/o endorsements so it sat). Btw, he did say it might go away, did not change the oil. Oh ! 7/10/19, I maybe riding it to work tomorrow.

Insert 7/10/19: 1:00pm: What oil would you recommend for oil change ?

I may be wrong, but I think it is just the nature of the beast. My '84 ticks once in a while.

He did say it would/could go away. I'm thinking after a few rides to work & back I will have the oil changed though.

First, make sure it's not the fuel pump. Then, if it bothers you, there's a procedure you can do to center the cam (?) that stops the ticking. It's in the book.

If your going to change the oil, you might add a bit of SeaFoam (as directed on the can) and ride a hundred miles or so . Then change the oil and filter.
