I'm curious what would be the point of taking the seat off to change the rear tire?

IF you are not doing the layover method. OR don't have a lift to drop the wheel down.

You have to take the seat off to get to the amplifier connector to disconnect and fish it back up to reconnect.

Amplifier is stock Honda above rear wheel in inner fender.

The owners manual shows how to remove rear wheel.

First step for just about anything (especially on a 1500) is "remove the seat". At least you don't have to do that to check the oil....

If you have a trailer to put ot on or a lift:
Use center stand and strap it so it can't fold up. Drag the bike back to hang the rear wheel in mid air and strap the bike down.

Frankly laying a new,$25000,900 pound bike on its side, and hoping for no damage is a roll of the dice! And using a lift that jacks up bike on the motor and exhaust pipes( there is no downtube
aka like a Harley, and it’s possible u can dent the exhaust pipes, so I guess I’ll follow the manual, and take the extra 20 minutes (I hope) to remove tire, but thanks for all the advice.

You don't lift it by the exhaust pipes. One pad goes under the center stand pivot and the other under the front of the engine. The only way it gets damaged laying it on it's side is if you have some kind of mishap or lay it on bare concrete, gravel etc.
