'84 GL1200 front brake switch cleaning

The front brake switch on my GL1200I was acting up. I could buy a new switch on Amazon for like $8, but it'd be here Wednesday and I've got a lot of riding to do between now and then. Ultimately, it is just a microswitch and should be able to be cleaned. Here's what I've done tonight. The guts are sitting in vinegar overnight and will be reassembled in the morning.

I've had to do that on my 1100, Effective...

I'd get a new switch but don't know what to get. Many years ago I had to replace the master cylinder because the reservoir was disintegrating. Found another master cylinder at the local motorcycle "pick-and-pull" breakers which was on a dual front disk bike and it works fine on the 'Wing. Problem is, I forgot to note what bike it came off of. It wasn't a Honda....

Next morning, wiped down with scotchbrite and used a fingernail file to clean the corroded contact point.

I put a little CA glue on the plastic studs and screwed it back on to the bike. No more issues!
