'93 gl-1500, so i drained the line and used a hand oiler and pumped fluid from the caliper to resevor. still nothing. so now i'll use the mityvac tool. am i missing anything. had some brake before
I have had to pull the brake line off of the master cylinder (completely remove the banjo fitting bolt) and fill the plunger space with fluid by hand. I used a small syringe to place the fluid. I could not get the master cylinder to prime the plunger even using a vacuum bleeder.
Not so. The return hole was open allowing fluid/air back into the reservoir. It simply would not prime. After I puled the banjo bolt, filled the plunger cylinder, replaced the banjo bolt, and bled the banjo fitting it worked.
Had plugged return hole in clutch master causing clutch to slip when heated. Opened return hole and tried to bleed. Again I had to pull the banjo fitting and fill plunger cylinder before it would prime. Might be it is supposed to prime by operating thr lever but neither master cylinder cooperated. Brake and clutch work as specified now.
Really is no need to bleed the banjo bolt. Just turn the handlebars so the banjo bolt is lower than the master. Bleed as normal.
