Anybody notice the new 48 hour rule for editing your post?? Not allowed after 48 hours.... Guess I'll have to be more careful to get it right the first time...SDB/Jim

I guess thats OK by me. If I mess up I normally get it fixed in the first hour so I can live with the rule.

Not a problem here......my posts usually get axed, when I get "carried away" so the rule probably won't affect me too much.......

Yah.. I think it is a good rule too!!..

Sometimes I go back to read something that was said, and it is gone or changed..... In fact, the way that I foundout about this rulewas that I had commented on someone's nonworking link.. it was laterfixed, so I was going toedit out my comment and found out I couldn't...

Good idea.

Submissions are supposed to become the property of the board so 48 hours is good if a user wants to 'fix' something and this prevents long term posts from disappearing and will help the readability of the board.

It will also prevent disgruntled members and Gurus from pitching a fit and taking all their stuff and going home like a two year old.

Also it stops people known for flaming (we all know who they are) from editing older posts with offensive stuff that was already deleted from their more recent posts. I only changed editing to 48 hours at the weekend and was going to let you know about it tonight, but it looks like you guys beat me to it. I will probably extend this to several days later on as I think 48 hours is a bit limiting.

Sounds good by me.... 48.. or 96... just good to know what it is..

On the topic of editing.. I notice some boards ask for a reason (that is posted with the edited date)... I like that too.. but don't know if it would be honestly used...

I found out about it today when I noticed a spelling mistake frpm last week. I assumed it had always been there!

A thing that bothers me is the ability to edit a post even after a topic is closed, I had PM'd Wexman about that just recently.

Not a big deal, but it could be misused, to the detriment of the board.
