Been dreading this trip. But it had to be done.

Over 4,000 miles at a slow pace trying to save fuel costs and not hit anything solid.

Pulled the wife's car on a tow dolly. Now have her dad here with us so we can watch over him for as long as God let's him stay with us. Alzheimer's has him in its' grip now.

We are all tired of the road, strange beds, and irritable cagers who think that big trucks and other vehicles pulling heavy loads don't have a right to be on the highway impeding their way.

Got everything unloaded and now we are just trying to recouperate. Tomorrow is soon enough to straighten it all out.

Hope all of you had a safe week and are still here to relate your own stories.

It seems that while I was off not watching, ole CJ went and bought himself a ST1300. I am envious but that is okay. Enjoy it CJ. I will hopefully soon have my new steed also.

Also learned that JimsJinx had a near miss. Glad that worked out for the best.

Heard on the news just this morning that an airplane went down in Utah with a crew of medical personnel on it. That is such a sad thing, and a waste of valuable folks too.

So, the main theme of this thread is for all of us to be ever watchful, and take care of ourselves and our forum brothers and sisters. Okay??

Glad you made the trip ok AZ. Sad to hear of your father in law, but bless you and your wife for opening your home in order to take care of your own...Too many people are all too willing to put someone in a home and just leave them there. I have the utmost respect for those who won't do that.

Thanks Mike D.

My wife just could not buckle under to the "demands" of some of her family insisting that he be placed in a "proper place" where he "couldn't get hurt".

Here he can watch the birds from our patio, scratch in the flower beds, and move around when he feels like it. Far different from those white walls and locked doors elsewhere.
