I just want all of you out there to take an extra minute or two and give the people you love a big hug and tell them you love them. Do it often, repeat as necessary.

I lost my mom suddenly Monday. The last time I saw her was the previous Thursday when I went to her house to mow the lawn and do some mommy-do things for her. She was 77. I did give her a big hug and told her I loved her. Then I left. That was the last time I saw her alive. I tried calling her all day Monday and finallydecided that something was up(she lived about 30 miles away). My wife and I drove over and that's when I found her, passed away, in her bed. She died peacefully and she no longer is in pain(really messed up hips, non-operable).

So, don't take it for granted that you've always got tomorrow to do what you should do today. Now.

RIP mom. I still love you.

Hobie

Hobie,

Condolences from here also. My mom is 91 just last July 28.

I try to call everyday, but miss a day sometimes. I try to go see her every weekend, like you were doing.

And yes, I tell her I love her, and I try to always talk of something we both enjoyed back in our younger days.

Today is the day to do it, tomorrow may not give us a chance.

~ John

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and condolences. It helps a lot.I'm going out to her house here in a bit to mow the yard and go through some things. She never threw anything away that she thought was worth something. Needless to say, it's going to take some time. Work a little, cry a little and press on. Dad passed away 19 years ago so there's a lot of momentos to go through.

Thanks again.

Hobie
