Yesterday morning on the way to work, I went to make a left turn onto a street...Cars on my left making the same turn, and as I pulled away from that green light, two cars on my right decided they needed to turn left from the third lane?????....They cut me off, just barely missing my front fender, then the two cars in front of me and these other two cars, after they almost caused me and several others to have a mishap, all four turned into a driveway leading to these restaurants.....???...I didn't have time to follow them and give them a piece of my mind so I let that incident slide....Mad yeah I was really POed....

Then here's where that two second rule reared its head...On my way home I and two other cars were setting at a red light, three lanes.....Something told me, don't be the first one away from that now green light....I started to move out the other two were not paying attention to the light, and just as I started to move, not one but three "Zoom Splat motorcycles", ran their red light........I plowed of my brakes, just missing hitting them by inches.....One of those riders looked at me and had that "deer in the headlight look" but he never slowed down.....Had I as normal at this light gone on, I would have been right in their path, and some if not all of us might have been hurt bad!!!!!....So the two second rule not only applies to motorcycles but our cars.....What really made me shake after I got home was, Had I been riding my Wing there might have been worse injuries to me and them.....Close call....

Been there and done that Claude! Good reactions from you and I'm glad it didn't result in anything other than a close call.

Stay safe!

Happy to hear you avoided a sure tragedy!!

There is a three second rule in restaurant kitchens but it's one I don't abide by.

When your cooking anything and you drop it on the floor it's still ok to serve if you pick it up in three seconds. HAW-HAW-HAW!!!

Thanks redbaron. I think its good to post things like this to help keep us all mindful of watching and being aware of what's going on around us. Not all of us can ride every day so these reminders are useful.

I don't know what it is, but that whole three or four cars turning left from the right hand lane, cutting off traffic simply to pull into a parking thing...I've seen happen four or five times in the last month or so.

Wonder if it's some new form of gang thing? I remember some years back, they would ride around at night with their head lights off, and the first car to "flash" them for it was their victim. They'd turn around get the car to pull over and then kill the driver, to be initiated into the gang.

Man, I really hope it isn't something like that going on. Be careful out there guys, the world is vicious place.

I don't know what has happened to common sense anymore when it comes to driving.

Running the yellow into the red is the usual thing.

Changing lanes aggressively back and forth.

One of my favorites is where a person makes a right hand turn from a two lane road onto a six lane road and goe all the way into the far lane with his turn!

I'm glad to hear you got through it okay, but down here in the land of senile drivers, two seconds still isn't enough time.
