I get a "problem with Yahoo toolbar" notification, then , if I ask for a solution, it says there is a fix, but I can't get to it, even with the add ons shut off. Any takers? jimsjinx

Upgrade to Windows 7 ?

Can you uninstall the Yahoo! toolbar? Its pretty easy to get it & re-install if you like it...

JJ, do you use the toolbar? ... If not, go to your "add/remove programs"in the control panel and delete it.

The only toolbar I allow to run is the one for my AVG, and I don't even use it...

...might help, I don't know for sure though. Seems that if it ain't there, it can't conflict.

I never allow those extra tool bars to load Jim.

If one does sneak in, I remove it.

The single exception is the one for AVG that CM85 mentioned, but even that one I keep hidden.

Vista was a failure from the start. Besides being the most unstable platform ever released, MS did not even include a way to create a boot disk. So, if you bought your machine pre-loaded, you were out of luck if your OS crashed. I upgraded to Windows 7 and never looked hack.

Remove that yahoo tool bar. Just more crapola taking up ROM.

I wasn't going to be quite that harsh Rudy

But, I will admit to using IE once in a blue moon, and only if that is the only way to get something to work because some ijit programmer refuses to cooperate with anything except IE.

Ergo, using IE is not a smart thing to be doing.
Get Firefox and learn it, or Chrome. I don't like Chrome so, it is Firefox.

Firefox updates their stuff daily if needed to keep ahead of the bad boys.

Well to be worse... I have Vista on two laptops and never have a speck of trouble with them. And that is doing tons of non-mainstream programs on them as daily workhorses. That's what I'm on now.

Must be a fluke.

Might talk to you about stripping down and stramlining the XP units though.

AZ helped me with stripping down Vista when I first got it, but I think sumpin's up with this Laptop. The HP laptop came loaded and was a gift, so I got what I got! I'll R&R IE and see what happens. Thanx! jimsjinx
