Have you noticed, and it seems to bejust over the past few years, that store receipts are getting larger?

I'm not really frustrated with it...itmakes me laugh for the most part... More often than not, they're too long tofit in my wallet without folding first! This is true even if I only buy one or two things.

Sometimes I don't need the receipt (see Mitch Hedberg's thoughts on doughnut receipts), but since it printed,I should at least recycle the darn thing.

Maybe it's just me...

I have noticed this too... My wife loves to use coupons also.. so by the time a receipt prints out it is nearly 4' long when she goes grocery shopping....

What gets me is the paper some of the receipts are printed on, Esp. AutoZone. You are required to present the receipt for warranty or guaranty, but after about 2 or 3 months, the printing on the paper is faded so bad that you can't read it. No receipt, no warranty. Go figure.

With AutoZone, you create an account in their system.

Every purchase will be maintained there permanently.

I just replaced two batteries in my diesel pickup truck under warranty, and got a Favored Customer Discount also.
  1. New battery cost over $100 each over the counter, they don't know you.
  2. * Warranty allowed me $18 credit per battery (5 years old)
  3. *Favored Customer Discount let me purchase for the original cost 5 years ago of $69.99 and deducted that $18.00 to boot which brought my replacement cost to $51.99 per battery plus tax of course.

Paper? who needs it?
Establish accounts with the vendors you deal with, it will pay you back in coupons. I promise.

Did the exact same thing last summer - (2) 1000cca Duralasts - can't beat the deal.

If you ever need a starter, theirs are guaranteed forever, too. I've put two of those in for the price of one, also - and Cummins starters ain't cheap.

Goldwings. . . if you're gonna have something between your legs, it might as well be enormous and smooth.
