I assume they are RFIDs.

The problem is that I lost mine and now have to manually enter a number sequence.

The alarm company says the fobs are obsolete but they can replace the keypad with a newer style for about $700.00. I'll punch numbers for that.

I find it hard to believe there aren't replacement parts out there. The tag itself is about the size of four dimes stacked up but I'm sure there are different frequencies, types etc.

The alarm company just wants leverage to sell a new contract.

Is anyone familiar with how the things work and where to start looking for a replacement fob.

The label on the Keypad is Chubb, the service provider. I don't know if they made their own keypads, re-labeled off the shelf stuff or had them made by contract.

I am part of the problem as I don't know anything about how the system works.

I could pretty much guarantee the components are from the Pacific rim.

The market is very competitive and they have to use every chance they get to make a few extra dollars but to rework the system costs more than a new one and the final result is less to my liking. The new fobs are much bigger and a general pain in the neck.
