Just browsing aimlessly now and I typed in the address in Google Maps for the White House.

I wasn't looking at Street view but a Satellite view andwanted a close look at the roof for no particular reason.

Zoomed in as far as I could and after looking around accidentally hit the zoom in again instead of zoom out.

It took me inside of one of the rooms and I was able to look around and "walk" from room to room and viewboth levels.

Ididn't know this was possible and wonder if I am the last to find out or others members here haveseen itbefore?

If you have a problem with how your tax dollars are being spent maybe you shouldn't look.

Sometimes I wanted to go in a direction but there was no arrow. If I was persistant sometimes one appeared.

There were no people in any of the rooms but this one.
So who is it?

I had read that Google maps was going to start showing us the interiors of the larger public places.

Monster shopping malls, etc...

But I had not explored any of that yet, you are a leader Lloyd!!!

Yep, Google is adding the interior of monuments to their streetview collection.

Bet you didn't see what was actually on the roof of the White House...

That's pretty cool. Get to look things over before you go or decide you've seen enough and not go.

phlemdog, now you got me wondering.

I went back for another look.

Is it someone sunbathing?

There are sections of the roof that are censored. Supposedly, it's where the anti-aircraft batteries are.

There are several places on the globe that are that way, and some don't make any sense.
