Just curious

Is there a way to get rid of the add? I don't like looking through the forums and every time I get to the top or bottom seeing Obama, his wife, or Biden. I don't like seeing adds at all, but especially political ones. We are not on here to try to win votes. Just saying.

I don't believe that you should be seeing them as a Lifetime Member. Fire a PM off to AZ1500 one of our moderators and I'm sure he can tell you how to turn them off.

Yeah, I think he's talking about the main banner ads at the top and bottom of the page that don't turn off no matter what. I've seen the Obama ads a few times over the last couple weeks and wondered how long it would take for someone to complain about it. For a site that fights so hard (sucessfully and rightly so I might add) to avoid political discourse, it does seem an odd choice for advertisement.

Unfortunately, those top and bottom ads are Google AdSense critters.

IF you read a news article on a political subject, then you just might get a political ad.

I suggest downloading Ad Fender. It's a free program and does a good job of eliminating most ads. There are some websites that won't run if you use an ad killer but this one is easy to turn off when needed.
