Texas windows

I 've never been to Texas. I wonder how is the average house built in there.
Today with the storm coming , the news are reporting they have a small window to get out. Why cant they use the door?

I make sense all the time. The problem is you only listen intermittently

You'd think new home construction on the gulf would be built to the same standards as Florida after Hurricane Andrew tore up South Florida.

ha ha ha,

I was just watching one of those remodeling shows last night, and the host master rebuilder made what I thought was a very stupid comment about "windows" in Texas.

The homeowner had replaced all of the original 1870's windows with new style Double Pane insulated windows because he wanted to be efficient with his a/c electric bill.

The host remodeler guy stated bare faced "why the hell would you waste money on Double Pane windows in Texas??? They just aren't need down there....

what a comment to make from someone who is supposed to be "educated" on making homes efficient..... I guess he only had "winters" on the brain. ??

His home is in Ft. Worth.... seems he would understand what it is to have 105* outside, and wanting to have 72* inside???
