You may want to look at this, it may be cheaper than a new motherboard: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...9SIA6A35AP7171 this is what Tom has and is using.

Dave,

that HP has a DVD drive in it, and 4 front panel USB slots.
that should be all you need.

One of those USB ports can be used to add on an external HDD if you should need the space for lots of pictures. the HDD in your current PC can be used to do that.

you already have a monitor, it comes pre-loaded with Windows 7 Professional.

It looks just like the workstations that my medical offices use... they have 100s of those things.

Probably not enough computer for even me. I sometimes stress the 8gb I have with multiple windows and service manuals, never mind dealing with video. And I have more USB ports in use right now.

The one Tom has is currently running a radio station app, 2 external hard drives, is using the hard drive from a notebook with a broken screen and two monitors. If you look on newegg.com at the price of motherboards you may fall off the chair. Plus there are 6 more usb ports on the back, so you can add more to it. It's more than I need to run cross stitch software. That's what my Toshiba laptop will be doing.

Then it has 10 USB ports, the specs just mentioned the 4 USB ports on the front....

My desktop PC has the same configuration, 4 USB ports on the front, and a bunch more on the back panel.

Dave, that just might fix you up

Just checking Reader Comments, found the following:

2Gb is not enough for that computer. It takes DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs PC2-10600. The MBD can accept 1, 2 or 4 GB Sticks. I put in 2 2GB Stick and it improved it greatly. You can check out Docu 581652-001 on HP website. Complete tech specs. I would get two 4 GB sticks

========================================
This PC os fast on WIn7,

I added a new 1TB HDD and installed WIn8.1, and blazing fast. I am running photoshop 7 , oms office etc on it and works perfect like my i5 laptop.

I will do an upgrade for the RAM in near future..

=====================================

i used: 4GB
ddr3l -1600 udimm pc3-12800 cl=11 non-ECC But I also put in a Kingston 120GB ssd and the computer runs great.
Here, I think you should use the SSD that you have in your current Desktop

BEST ANSWER: No, it has one VGA and one HP display port which you can get a HP display port DVI adapter cable.

=============================

es. (1) 9-pin serial port.

one RJ-45 attached to the MOBO.
This is the LAN connector to your Cable Internet Modem

Pretty much what I was thinking, upgrade the RAM and add the SSD & it should suffice for what I do, except apparently it doesn't have a card reader and no mention of an HDMI port.

oops!
i forgot about you needing the HDMI port for the TV,
and no, a Card Reader port is not on that unit at all,
let's keep looking if those are really important

I have a new card reader also and I have a video card in my PC with HDMI, wonder if it would work?
