Take the flu shot John and the Pneumonia shot and the shingles shot as well... Ay our age (I'm 71) we need all the protection we can get...

I got shingles this year and let me tell ya, it was NOT fun... I have COPD from years of smoking (quit over 15 years ago) so when I get an upper respiratory infection, it gets serious in a hurry... I never used to do any of the shots and now I do them all...

BTW, was 65 here today and I was riding the Cherohala Skyway - went about 1/2 way and then came back... The Cherohala is about an hour (60 miles) east of me...

For those that are interested, they just opened up an additional extension of the Foothills Parkway and it's 16 miles now over to Wear's Valley... I haven't been on the new part yet but it's on my ride list for later this year or early next year... We go thru Wear's Valley when we go over to Gatlinburg and it's an awesome ride thru the mountains... Take 321 east out of Maryville and turn left at Wear's Valley Road and follow it to Gatlinburg - a real pretty ride in the summertime... Hope the new extension of Foothills Parkway is as good...

There must have been some kind of glitch in WU last night. Now it's showing a high of 74 an 0% rain. I may have to do a little stress relieving too.

yep, if we are under stress our immune systems are under attack, and the flu shot is useless.

so, at a few days being short of 75, I am giving a lot of thought to skipping the Flu Shot this year..... i have been faithfully taking it ever since I turned 62.....

now, I am concerned about it, my daughter is sick now and has been for a week, I am sleeping a lot of hours, and feeling tired with the least bit of physical activity....

so, I am thinking that my immune system is doing all it can to survive this winter.
We stay home, and avoid people as much as possible.
First flu shot I got was 5 years ago, I got very sick a few days later, the Dr. said I already had the flu and the shot came too late. So a couple of years ago, got another flu shot. Everyone I worked with was sick except for me. Got mine again this year and again, everyone I work with has been sick, not me...(knock on wood )

So that's 26 uses of the family towel, provided no relatives show up on bath day?

Nothing but a bike for me now. (Lost Transmission in car last week.) Weather has been great However the 4 am FOG is not the most desirable aspects of the ride.

well,
the temp gauge got up to 68 and off I went.

toured the back alley ways and ended up over at Charlie and Connie's house....
they fed me muffins and jelly

then I wandered on further south and bought some things I needed for the truck and trailer.
