for me, that is not a bad thing,

AVAST is the single best AV program out there, and has been the least amount of effect on slowing down a Windows PC while you are doing other things.

They have surpassed the Russian AV program, K' something?? kurpersky?
and I don't trust anything that originates inside Russia these days.
If you don't know already, the US Government made a wholesale declaration a few months back, that the Russian program is not banned for use in any USA government agency, regardless of Federal, State, or Local.... they are not allowed in the USA anymore... they have been found to be transferring our internal government secrets to the Kremlin.

They booted AVG right out the door for me, when AVG became more of an advertiser than a security program.... it was slowing down my Win97 desktop so much, that I wanted to get something different.

My daughter has always sworn by AVAST, somehow, she started with it 15 years ago, and it has never done her wrong.... so I tried it, and I liked what I saw.

CCleaner has been my primary search tool for the Registry and other problems.

IF, you turn it loose whole hog, it can do a LOT of damage.
Be very care with how you let it work.
I only use the Sub-Routines one at a time so that I know what is being done.
