ask him how the hell you are going to stop in 15 lanes of 55 mph traffic that is bumper to bumper?
well, 55 to 5 to 85 to 0 traffic.

that is why lane splitting should be legal in all 50 states.

My safety instituter at the motorcycle class I took 4 years ago said he does it all the time on his Harley full dress. He said he would pull between cars at stop lights so he didn't get hit from behind. If I rode the freeways in San Francisco or L.A. to work everyday I would have a much different bike. With much larger Brake's. The reason I was given for lane splitting was air cooled motors getting hot and burning down in stop and go traffic. There is a time and place for everything and I only use Lane Splitting now and then, I do not make a practice of it, and I go slow between cars.

If lane splitting is so safe then wouldn't shoulder splitting be safer? Only have a car on one side and an escape route on the other.
