Unhappy The Can't wait to be in front types

I just caught this comment in another thread, and did not want to hijack the thread.
we have all seen this

No sense passing anyone on that road, you're just going to get behind someone else.
We are all in a line of vehicles that stretches out for as far as you can see, from one hill top to the next hill top a mile away....

I want to leave about 2 vehicles space or more in front of me, just in case the guy in front has to slam on his brakes.

Invariably, some jerk revs his motor, gives me the Bird, and crowds over in front of me just barely missing my fender....

I understand your post, but I also sympathize with the OP.

I saw a great placard in a golf cart once, that said "It's not your goal to be just in front of the group behind you. It's your goal to be just behind the group ahead of you. Play ready golf."

Unless you're the lead horse the view never changes.

Truckers leave front room so as not to lose all momentum, not so you can force them to test their brakes.

The ones I find irritating are the ones who see the merge into one lane arrows and while some are smart to merge before getting to the end, there's always a doofus or two that wait till the last minute and gum up the works.

I deal with that every day during my commute, both ways. I call it the "d00sh lane".

Apparently, someone at the NY Times thinks late merging is a good idea.

The New York times puts out mostly stuff that reasonable people with experience in the matter disagree with.

With no God over the state, the state then becomes not the defender of liberty but the definer of liberty.

If I disagree with you it's simply because you're wrong.

That's why they start the arrows flashing before you get to the 'Let me squeeze in' point. It slows everyone down more when you have to let the nitwit in.

Although rare, it's nice when everyone is on the same page and it just flows along at a slow but constant speed. I would rather it be a constant 10 mph than idiots that run up to 20 then stop, over and over.

I have started doing it like the truckers, if you went to the end of the Merge Lane and you still have not gotten into the correct lane, tough on you.

I am not slowing down to let them in.
